Quarter-Finals Day at Hong Kong Football Club, with the top four seeds in the Men’s and Women’s draws still in contention at the start of the day.
Women’s Quarters : The day started with the only seeding upset as Malaysia beat fourth seeds England 2-0, denying the English a semi-final place for the first time in the tournament’s history. They’ll play second seeds USA, who beat India 2-0, in the semis.
Defending champions Egypt eased past France 2-0 while third seeded European champions Belgium came from one down to beat hosts Hong Kong, reaching the semis for the first time.
Men’s Quarters : The top four seeds will contest the men’s semi-finals after defending champions Egypt beat unseeded Germany 2-0 to set up a semi-final against third seeds France, who beat India 2-0.
Second seeds England were tested before ousting hosts Hong Kong 2-0 while fourth seeds Switzerland won the closest match of the round, beating Colombia 2-1.

After a scare against Spain in the previous round England looked to have their work cut out again as Wong Ch Him took the opening game. Good reaction from Curtis Malik to put England ahead, then Mohamed ElShorbagy fights back from 1-6 in the first and 7-10 in the third to take England through to a sixth consecutive semi.
