Day SEVEN : Finals Day and it’s a 5th title for Egypt

It’s Finals Day at Squash on Fire in Washington, with the final placings to be decided including  the all-important top two positions.

Malaysia, Australia, Hong Kong, Switzerland and Nigeria had all completed their matches, and Wales and France had booked their Bronze Medals.

The other playoff finals – including a tasty USA 2-0 Canada match for 13th place – preceded the Final, the fourth successive final between top seeds Egypt and England,  who between them have won the last six editions of the WSF Men’s World Teams.

In the end it was Egypt who triumphed again, but England gave them a real fight, Karim Abdel Gawad overcoming a nosebleed and Declan James 12-10 in the fifth, and Ali Farag clinched the title with a four game win over Adrian Waller.
