Egypt retained their WSF Women’s World Team title with a two-nil victory over second seeds USA at the Madinaty Sports Club, in front of a passionate full house of 1500 fans.
USA’s Amanda Sobhy made the hosts work hard for their win though, taking a 2-1 lead over world #1 Nouran Gohar, and had two match balls at the end of a tense fourth game.
Gohar saved those and dominated the fifth though, leaving it to Nour El Sherbini to wrap up the title with a quickfire 3-0 win over Olivia Fiechter.
